Exploring Mass Jathara: The Latest Mass Entertainer with Ravi Teja

With Ravi Teja and Sree Leela in the lead roles, Mass Jathara is high on action but set in a unique backdrop, the Railways department. Unlike most mass entertainers, the plot of this film revolves around Railway Protection Force and their relentless fight against drug rackets that are prevalent in the Uttarandhra region.

Lakshman went up against a powerful marijuana smuggling empire, led by a villainous K.G. Reddy, which ran its operations around a railway track. Not your average city cop films. One of the lesser-known things about Mass Jathara is how it was made. It was directed by Bhanu Bogavarapu, who is known for his writing in movies like Samajavaragamana, and this movie is his debut.

Ravi Teja himself was very impressed by Bhanu, who rewrote the scenes several times to change them according to the comfort of the actors. This is quite a rare thing; usually, the actor has to adjust according to the director’s vision, but having a director that adjusts his movie to the actors marks an interesting collaboration between the two artists.

Another interesting fact about the movie is about Sree Leela, who played Tulasi, an allegedly innocent engineering educated college student. In real life, she is MBBS educated, which adds a level of authenticity to her role as a knowledgeable science teacher.

Musically, Bheems Cecireleo’s compositions enrich the film, which not only feed the songs but also amplifies the film’s lively experience with a soundtrack to match but also overshadow the emotional beats. Behind the scenes, the cinematography by Vidhu Ayyanna, which captures the rustic valley of Uttarandhra in all its glory and tension, complements the intensity of the narrative.
